Vision Quest
Inspired by Native American Traditions
Vision Quest
Voici une traduction anglaise fidèle au texte que tu viens de donner, en gardant le ton et la structure :
Spending time alone in nature is one of the foundations of initiation practices found in shamanic traditions around the world.
It is one of the most important, profound and, at the same time, most natural experiences. Stepping away from our daily activities for a period of time is one of the most effective ways to gain clarity about our purpose in life, our environment, our emotions, or an important decision.
In our culture, society rarely allows us to truly stop and take a step back. All too often, life eventually forces us to stop through burnout, illness, injury or an unfortunate event, creating an opportunity for a profound reorganisation of our lives and activities.
What is a Vision Quest, and what are its benefits?
A Vision Quest can help us take action and responsibility for the course of our lives, realign ourselves with our purpose or discover it, and potentially avoid periods of crisis.
Fasting and spending time alone in nature can allow emotions to surface and be released, the body to regenerate, and our determination to grow stronger.
There is also a spiritual dimension that can allow us to connect with our deeper nature and, at the same time, come into contact with the mysteries of the world, seeking wisdom and guidance.
In many cultures, experiencing this at least once in a lifetime has traditionally been considered a prerequisite for reaching maturity.
For many Indigenous peoples of North America, a person was not considered truly an adult until they had faced, at least once, solitude, hunger, isolation, the night, and themselves.

My Experience:
I undertook my first Vision Quest in 2013, under the guidance of my shamanic teacher. After completing a second Vision Quest with him in 2014, I travelled around the world, undertaking periods of retreat in different countries: India, Indonesia, Hawaii, and France, in the Alps.
The experience had a profoundly beneficial and lasting impact on my personal life.
I waited several years before finally deciding to share this teaching through 7-day retreats.
How Does a Vision Quest Take Place?
2.5 days of preparation, 3 days alone in nature, followed by 2 days of integration.
The preparation includes a purification of the body through healthy food, initiations in nature through the elements of water, air and fire, and a gradual withdrawal from modern life.
The time spent alone consists of 3 nights within a circle, at a designated location in Haute-Maurienne.
The integration takes place together, with a shamanic ceremony and a sharing circle on the final day.
Am I Ready for a Vision Quest?
Taking part in a Vision Quest is not necessarily a rational decision. It is something you need to feel, something you genuinely want to experience. It is a calling.
The apprehension that comes with it is natural, particularly the thought of being alone or going without food.
It is precisely this boundary that the initiation is there to help dissolve...
What lies beyond these few days is unknown. It is about taking one more step towards who we truly are, freeing ourselves from the sometimes invisible chains that hold us back.
It is a rebirth, a celebration, the culmination of one chapter of our lives before moving towards the future with greater serenity and joy.
